Throughout the book of Acts, the Holy Spirit is moving followers of "The Way" to pursue God's mission in new and exciting ways. In Damascus, a former persecutor is baptized. In Antioch, Jewish believers begin speaking to the Greeks. Then the mission had to be clarified with a large meeting in Jerusalem and once that happened, Paul is sent out a second time along the Roman Roads. But then there is a vision that leads him across the sea to Macedonia and the city of Philippi. There the seeds of a new church are planted with a faithful woman, a slave and a jailer's family. And God causes the seeds to grow! So much so that this church later is a tremendous support to God's mission and to Paul. This makes me think about the seeds planted at our church and what ways God may help us grow as we continue His mission.
