This Sunday, I will conclude the short sermon series “Roads to Rome” with the Apostle Paul finally going to the capital city of the Roman Empire. Luke is apparently with him on this journey and recording some of the words Paul uses to testify to the Good News about Jesus.
Along the way the Gospel gets a hearing among the Jewish people, among the Gentiles and even in the halls of Roman power. I think what we learn from this final journey of Paul’s in the book of Acts is to take heart when we are called on God’s mission because ultimately it is God who can do “immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20 NIV).
