Second Sunday of Easter

1 Peter 1:3-9

Peter begins his letter with a beautiful doxology praising God for three gifts: a hope (v. 3), an inheritance (v. 4) and salvation (v. 5). From heaven to earth we receive these gifts to get us through "various trials". Peter begins with hope which is a living hope. We are "born again" he writes, which reminds us of our baptisms. How is this "living hope" at the core of who we are as Christians and what "trials" will it help us with?
