Paul writes to a Roman church where members had some serious food issues. Writing here and in his other letters, Paul establishes some guidelines for Christians to love one another. The first thing to know is this: no one is wrong about their food convictions. It is when those convictions lead to unloving behavior that we sin against one another. Paul teaches us that in between the explicit words in the Bible that guide us to do righteousness and avoid sin, there can be questioning, debating and still a lot of room to demonstrate the power of the Gospel in how we love one another.
