SERMON NOTES
In chapter 12 of “The Story” a king covets, and that leads to adultery and murder. Is this still the an that is after God’s own heart? Or will God turn away from David like He did King Saul? In this chapter, we discover one of the greatest gifts that we receive from God: FORGIVENESS.
Very soon, we will celebrate the Son of God coming to us in Bethlehem, and we will hear the angels sing “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace to those with whom He is pleased!” That song of praise reminds us of something important in this season of giving and receiving gifts. This child is also our Savior whose life, death and resurrection will give us peace and God’s favor for all eternity. Once we unwrap that gift, then it is time to share forgiveness and reconciliation with God in our families and wherever else God sends us in 2020.
