After predicting His coming death and resurrection for the third time, Jesus is confronted with yet another argument among the disciples about who will be first in the coming kingdom. There is a mission critical element that they are missing from all of the instruction Jesus has been giving in the last two chapters of Mark. So once again Jesus uses the dispute among the disciples as a teachable moment to say, "The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many."
