“The Servant of the Lord” is a theme throughout Isaiah’s prophecies, especially in the second half of the book. Most of these seem to refer to God’s people, Israel, but four of these prophecies stand out as an individual servant is commissioned. These are the four “Servant Songs” of Isaiah, and from the time of the Apostles until today, they have been connected with the person and ministry of Jesus Christ. What do these “songs” sing about? How do they describe Jesus? And how can we connect our Lord's service to our various callings, today? These are the questions I am thinking about in this next “servant” sermon series, “The Servant Songs of Isaiah.”
These sermons were given throughout the season of Lent, February and March of 2021.
