BRIDEGROOM

The beautiful scene depicted in Revelation 21:1-4 has a wedding at the center. Throughout the Bible, marriage is a central motif from the first union of husband and wife in Genesis, through the prophets who urge a return to faithfulness and Jesus whose first public miracle was at a marriage feast. 

These images all come together in John's depiction of the new heavens and new earth. When everything is remade, the final wedding feast is the place of great joy, great beauty and ultimately, great peace.
