Roads to Rome - Ephesus

 In one of the songs I learned in Sunday School there is a finger play that goes along with the words "The church is not a building; the church is not a steeple; the church is not a resting place, the church is the people." 

 

I am thinking of that song as I look at Acts 19 and Paul's stop in the city of Ephesus. The mission of God continues in the synagogue there as well as a lecture hall and in the marketplace. In all these places the Good News about Jesus transforms hearts and lives.

 

In Alexandria, Virginia our church has been in the local firehall and at a cemetery in addition to our building at 2501 Beacon Hill Road. That is because the church can be wherever God's mission is carried out by the people, just like in Ephesus.
