LENT MIDWEEK SERVICE 1. I think that a lot of road signs God gives us in Paul’s letter to Romans involve key prepositional phrases. In the case of Romans 5, the word “through” is very important. It is “through our Lord Jesus Christ” that we are justified; that we have faith; that we stand in grace. And it is all that which gets us through any kind of suffering so that instead of being consumed we endure and even thrive by the power of God’s Spirit.
