July 28, 2019
At the National Youth Gathering, we were immersed in a study of the Psalms, especially Psalm 46, under the theme, “Real. Present. God.” Coming back from the NYG with a lot of new insight and inspiration, the next two sermons in July will be taken from the Psalms. Last Sunday, we read Psalm 27 together and meditated on how the “Lord Is Our Light”. This week, we will jump to the Psalm we studied at the youth gathering, asking the Bethany youth for their insights so they can testify on how “God Is Our Refuge!”.
This Sunday, I’ll continue to say THANK YOU to Bethany Lutheran for sending me with the youth to the National Youth Gathering of our church body. After giving them a chance to rest and reflect, I’ve called on our youth to help me during this service so we can all present how we were strengthened in our faith. We were brought together around the theme “Real. Present. God.”, based on Psalm 46, “The Lord is My Refuge”. As we looked at the Psalms, we connected to music, art, stories and the Means of Grace as we were reminded of God’s presence and power.
