SERMON NOTES

God lays it out before Moses, saying: “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out… and I am concerned about their suffering. …So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh.” After some more conversation on the matter, Moses ends up saying, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.” Before that scene by the burning bush, we find out how God protected Moses and helped to shape him into the person who would be sent to Pharaoh. What comes after the burning bush is an act of deliverance that will foreshadow how God saves His people in “The Story,” because we need the blood of a spotless lamb and some water before the children of Israel can be free.
